David Mattos

David, a native New Englander, was raised in the quaint town of Cumberland, R.I.. He has been in the financial service industry since 1989. In 1980, Dave graduated from Providence College with a BA in Political Science and was commissioned a Finance Officer in the U.S. Army. Since 2004, David has helped people with their investment needs as the owner of Mattos Capital Management. Prior to that, he worked at Paine Webber as Vice President of Investments from 1993-2004, and Dean Witter as Associate Vice President of Investments from 1989-1993. He has passed the series 8,7,3,65,63 exams. He is a certified FINRA Dispute Resolution Arbitrator.


Before joining the financial securities industry, Dave was an active duty Army Officer working in various jobs from Company Commander at Ft. Meade in Maryland, Disbursing and Accounting Officer at JTF Bravo, Honduras, and Information Management Officer and General Staff Officer at Ft. Monmouth, N.J.. He separated from military service with the rank of Major. He has taken graduate courses at University of R.I. in Providence and University of Southern California at the Pentagon.


Dave is a former Eagle Scout and is active in Portuguese cultural activities. He and his wife Diane have two children, Caroline and David, Jr.. He is a supporter of the Rhode Island Special Olympics and plays numerous musical instruments. Mattos Capital Management is a marketing designation.
